Dukes baseball set to begin 2024 season
VINELAND- After an exit in the Region 19 quarterfinal a year ago, the RCSJ-Cumberland Dukes baseball team is eager to begin a new year. The 2024 squad will be lead by 1st year Head Coach, Joey Gorman. Cumberland will return 9 student-athletes from a year ago, and bring in 17 new faces into the program.
The Dukes will start their season at home when the host the SUNY-Adirondack Timberwolves for a 3-game series beginning on Saturday, February 24th at 12PM. After the opening series, Cumberland jumps right into Region 19 play against both Bergen Community College and Ocean County College. From March 10th to 13th, Cumberland will travel south to play at the Ripken Experience Complex in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. The rest of March and April will be contests between the Dukes and Region 19 opponents including: Brookdale CC, Middlesex CC, Union College, Salem CC, RCSJ-Gloucester, Mercer CC, Northampton CC, Lehigh Carbon CC, and Camden CC.
The Region 19 playoffs begin on May 9th, and the Final Four will take place the following week from May 17th-19th.
