Dukes sweep Union College Owls

VINELAND, NJ- After a hard fought series against Middlesex College, the Dukes would would play their next series vs. the Union College Owls. In game 1, the Dukes would score early and often en route to a 15-4 victory. Cumberland scored all 15 runs within the first four innings. Isaiah Tinsley-Cobb led all Dukes hitters with 3 hits. James Decarlo, Jon Cimino, and Gavin Shapiro also had 2-hits apiece. Starting pitcher Donovan Gevers pitched 5 innings while giving up 3 earned runs and 5 strikeouts. Dion Damico pitched the remaining 2 innings while allowing 0 runs. Ty Powell also contributed offensively as he brought in 2 RBI's.

Games 2 and 3 would be played on the road at Kean University. Cumberland would win game 2 of the series, 6-1. Austin Wocock had his best appearance of the season, pitching all seven innings and allowing 0 earned runs. Wocock would also strikeout 4 batters. James Decarlo would lead the Dukes in hits with 2. Rinick, Decarlo and John Wallace all had an RBI. Game 3 would be a game that would have to go 12 innings before a winner was decided. Cumberland would complete the sweep with a 10-6 win. Powell, Rinick, Decarlo, and Kurtz would all have a multi-hit game. Andrew Baldino got the win on the mound, pitching 8 innings and giving up 1 earned run. Baldino struck out 12 opponent batters.
