VINELAND - After a tough start to the season that saw the Dukes with an 0-5-1 record, the team has made a complete turnaround.  Since the disappointing loss at Camden CC on September 16, the Dukes have gone 6-2 that included key wins against perennial postseason contenders, Sussex County, Montgomery County, and Brookdale CC. The Dukes defeated Sussex Co. for the first time in over 15 seasons while their victory over Brookdale CC was their first since 2019.  Currently, the Dukes are on a 3-game winning streak with victories over Brookdale (10.7), Montgomery Co. (10.10), and Atlantic Cape (10.14).

The offensive punch has come from Batuhan Onal and Donato Diaz who have 9 goals each on the season.  Diaz also is tied for the team lead in assists with 6 and leads the team in total points with 24.  Austin Donato holds the second spot in goals with 5 and Jesiah Cruz is second in assists with 4 respectively.  Defensively, the back line of Jonny Figueroa, Anthony Bova, Brayden Birnstiel, and Dom Russell has steady the Dukes in holding opponents to under a goal per game in their last 3 matches.  In the middle, Emmanuel Tlatelpa, Anthony Sanchez-Cruz, and Rene Barragan have orchestrated the Dukes attack to spark the 6-2 run.

Cumberland hosts Northampton in their season finale on Saturday, October 17 at 12 PM.
