Jersey Blues defeat Dukes in Final Four

Linctoft, NJ- The RCSJ- Cumberland Dukes softball team fell behind early and could not come back from 7-0 deficit vs. the Brookdale Community College Jersey Blues. Brookdale jumped ahead 4-0 in the first inning and would add a few runs the remainder of the game. Anita Hassen and Bailey Pennino both had multiple hits on the day. Karly Smaniotto was in the circle for the Dukes, she pitched 6 innings giving up 6 earned runs. Game 2 would provide more offense for the Dukes hitters but it was still not enough as the Brookdale Jersey Blues advance to the NJCAA World series by defeating Cumberland, 10-3. Mollie Reece and Sayde Nichols both had 2 hits for the Dukes imn game 2. Nichols and Smaniotto combined to pitch 6 innings, giving up 10 earned runs.
