Del Tech sweeps Dukes softball

VINELAND- The RCSJ-Cumberland Dukes softball team welcomed in reigning Region 19 Division II champion the Delaware Technical College Spirit. The Spirit would win game 1, 11-0. The Dukes would get hits from Karly Smanniotto, Ashley Brag, and Cecely Domingues. In the circle, Gianna Fisk completed 5 innings of work while allowing 14 hits and 7 earned runs.

In game 2 of the series, the Dukes and Spirit were tied 1-1 going into the top of the 3rd inning. Del Tech would open the game in the 3rd and 4th inning, combining to put up 9 runs between the two innings. The Spirit would go on to win game 2 by a score of 12-4. Mollie Reece, Anita Hassen, Karly Smaniotto, and Kennedy Grim would all tally a hit. Ashley Brag and Smaniotto combined to pitch 5 innings while giving up 6 earned runs.
