Dukes sweep Cougars in Region XIX action
VINELAND- THE RCSJ-Cumberland Dukes earned a much needed sweep over the weekend. The Dukes hosted the Lehigh Carbon Community College Cougars Sunday afternoon for a 2-game set. Cumberland was victorious in game 1, 5-4 and walked-off with victory in game 2, 11-10.
Mollie Reece led the charge for the Dukes going a combined 5 for 9 with 4 RBIs, 4 runs scored, 3 doubles and 4 stolen bases on the day. Anita Hassen and Cecely Dominguez also pitched in with having strong offensive days with Hassen notching 4 stolen bases on the day. Gianna Fiske played hero twice as she delivered both walkoff hits Sunday afternoon. The Dukes will have road games for their remaining 2 series. On Tuesday, the Dukes will head to Sewell, NJ to play the Roadrunners of RCSJ-Gloucester and on Wednesday they will go to Toms River, NJ to faceoff against the Ocean County College Vikings to wrap up the 2024 regular season.
