Juju Wilson and Torey Harris named Dukes of the Week

VINELAND - The second week of the Dukes Basketball season passed and it was a tough one for the Navy and Gold.  Dukes Men's Basketball lost a pair of heartbreakers to Brookdale CC and Bergen CC while Women's Basketball's first victory of the season slipped right through their hands with a 66-64 loss to Brookdale CC.  Despite the heartbreak, Julianna Wilson and Torey Harris continue to shine for the Dukes on the court and in the classroom.  For their consistent efforts, they have been named the Jimmy Williams Dukes of the Week.

Julianna Wilson - Millville - Millville, NJ

For the second week in a row, "Juju" has been named the Female Athlete of the Week for her consistency on the court and holding strong in the classroom.  The education major hailing from Millville, NJ was a big part of the Dukes nearly knocking off 14th-ranked Brookdale CC and continues to be a force on the offensive end.  Juju and the Dukes will be back in action Thursday, November 17 as the team hosts Prince George's CC.

Torey Harris - Middle Township - Cape May Court House, NJ

As one of three returning players from the 2021-22 season, Torey Harris, has been called upon to take on a leadership role for the Dukes.  It has been a role that Harris seems to be suited for as he has been a leader for the Dukes since the first day of practice.  In a season-opening victory, Harris hauled in 11 rebounds, 8 on the defensive end, to help lead the Dukes to a 76-74 victory over Division II opponent Essex County.  His willingness to battle and do the "dirty work" for the Dukes will serve the team well as the season progresses.  For his leadership, Harris earns his first Male Athlete of the Week award as they head into a tough week starting with a home game against Ocean County on Tuesday, November 15.
