Egan, Reece tabbed as Dukes of the Week

VINELAND - For the week ending on April 9, Dukes Golf's Tommy Egan and Dukes Softball's Mollie Reece have been named Dukes of the Week.  Both student-athletes have exhibited what it means to be a Duke; read below for their accomplishments during the week.

Tommy Egan - Freshman - Mays Landing, NJ (Buena Regional)

Tommy has bursted onto the Region XIX Golf scene with impressive scores in all matches that he has participated in.  Prior to his match on Wednesday, April 12, Egan carded his lowest score of the season (90) at the opening match at LBI National hosted by Ocean CC.  On Wednesday, April 12, Egan turned in a season low score of 86.  Egan's likability on and off the course has made him a fan favorite of Dukes Fans and opponents.  Look for Egan to make moves towards the top as the GSAC and Region XIX Championships draw near.

Mollie Reece - Freshman - Woodlyn, PA (Ridley)

Mollie has become a major offensive threat for the Dukes in her first collegiate season.  The freshman infielder turned the corner this past week in matchups against Mercer County and Middlesex College.  On the week, Mollie was 9 for 15 with 2 doubles, 2 HRs, 8 RBIs, and 7 stolen bases.  Reece came through in a big way in game 2 against Middlesex where she accounted for 10 of the 16 runs scored by the Dukes as she went 4 for 4 with a double, HR, 5 runs scored, and 5 RBIs.  Mollie is also a trusted work-study student in the Athletic Department as she assists with uniform prep, an attendant in the fitness center, and is a member of the Game Operations team for Fall and Winter Sports.
