Late Shot Pushes Dukes Past Delaware County

With the clock winding down, freshman Taj Berry-Ford sunk an elbow jumper with just under ten seconds remaining.  After a Cumberland steal, Khaliq Ford knocked down one of two from the line to give the Dukes an 85-82 win.

The first-half was an uphill battle for Cumberland, falling behind 10-0 to start the game.  After trailing 50-39 just after the break, the Dukes used a 13-2 run to take their first lead of the game with 14:52 left in the second half.

Sophomore Markevis Johnson led all scores with 31 points, including 8 of 14 (53%) from downtown.  Freshmen Berry-Ford and Shaheed Black each finished with 18 points and 12 rebounds.

Cumberland improves to 9-6 overall with their fourth consecutive win.  The Dukes will have a full week off until they travel to Ocean County College on January 14th.
