Men's basketball ready for 2nd half of season

VINELAND- The Dukes men's basketball team is gearing up for an exciting second half of the season. Despite a challenging start, facing tough Region 19 opponents, the team is ready to return to the court in 2024.

Currently holding a 2-10 record, the team has faced formidable competition. Leading the charge is sophomore Ryan Roney, averaging an impressive 18.4 points per game. Roney also boasts a 51.5% shooting percentage. In the rebounding category, Angel Smith has been a dominant presence, securing an outstanding 11.8 boards per game. Smith's tenacity on the boards has been instrumental in providing the team with crucial second-chance opportunities. Naim-Louis Foster has also made significant contributions in the first half of the season, averaging 12 points and 5 rebounds per game. Foster's well-rounded performance has added depth to the team's offensive and defensive ends.

The Dukes are scheduled to travel to Carney's Point, NJ to face-off against the Salem County College Mighty Oaks on Tuesday, January 9th at 7PM. In the teams first meeting, Cumberland was victorious by a score of 85-76.
