Men's Soccer: 2022 season in review

VINELAND- The 2022 men's soccer season has officially come to a close for the Dukes. While the teams overall record may not be flashy, the program made strides to a promising future. The season started with two tough matchups for the Dukes, competing against both Union and Ocean County. Cumberland would be shutout in these games, but would then play their best 2 games of the season against Salem and Bucks county. Both of the games would only be decided by 1 goal. Building off of this momentum, the Dukes would secure their first win of the season against Atlantic Cape Community College with a 3-1 victory.

Kevin Fareri ended the season as the leading scorer with 2 goals followed by Jesse MacFarland and Brandon Ttatelpa. Fareri also accounted for 4 assists on the year which was good for a team best as well.

Cumberland will return 5 players from the 2022 roster next season as those players look to assume a bigger role. First-year head coach John McClain is excited about the Dukes future as he went on to say "The goal this season was to get on field and begin building a culture. I think we did that. I am excited to have the returners back with addition of a strong recruiting class".
