Dukes defeated at home vs Owls

Dukes defeated at home vs Owls

VINELAND- The RCSJ Dukes women's basketball team returned to play this past Thursday, when they took on the Prince George's Community College Owls for a home matchup. The Owls came into this game with a unbeaten 2-0 record and they would continue their dominance against Cumberland. The 1st quarter would be owned by Prince George's as they outscored the Dukes, 21-7. Head Coach Sarge Linen and his staff would make adjustments going into the 2nd quarter.

These changes would pay dividends right away as the Dukes and Owls both scored 14 points a piece, respectively. Though Cumberland regained some of the momentum before halftime, ultimately the Owls would outscore the Dukes 56-28 in the 2nd half to cruise to a 91-49 victory. Tatyana Chandler was the leading scorer for Cumberland with 16 points. Also contributing in the game was Scotti Walker. Walker scored 7 points and lead the team with 13 rebounds. Julianna Wilson scored 9 points and was 9 of 16 from the free throw line.

Cumberland will have the remainder of November off from game action and will return to play on Saturday, December 3rd when they host the Sussex County Community College Skylanders for a 1PM game.
