Women's Soccer Advances to District A Championship with Thrilling 4-2 Victory Over Middlesex College
VINELAND — The Cumberland Women's Soccer team showcased exceptional skill and determination, securing a remarkable come-from-behind victory against Middlesex College in the District A Semifinals. Trailing 2-0 until the 77th minute, the Dukes delivered a breathtaking performance to win 4-2.
Ana Patino ignited the comeback with a brilliant header from a corner kick, narrowing the gap to 2-1. The team's spirits were further lifted when Kam Chisholm delivered a stunning free-kick, tying the game at 2 apiece. An extraordinary sequence followed, as Summer Nasatka drew a critical foul in the box, leading to Kam Chisholm's masterful free-kick, which propelled the Dukes into a 3-2 lead. Jocelyn Rodriguez sealed the victory with an additional goal, bringing the final score to 4-2.
This historic win has propelled Cumberland Women's Soccer into the District A Championship game, a first in the program's history. The Dukes will travel to Brookdale Community College to face the Jersey Blues in a highly anticipated showdown for the coveted ticket to the NJCAA DIII National Tournament.
